Pimples, blackheads, and generalized irritation are problems that anyone could face. Blemishes stem from bacteria that become trapped in hair follicles and pores. Here, these living pathogens cause irritation that presents in the form of pimples. When breakouts occur, over-the-counter creams and ointments are typically used in home care. Often, this is not enough. When acne is a persistent problem or is moderate to severe, it is time to visit Dr. Koreen. Many of our patients have achieved wonderful results from Isolaz acne treatment, performed in our Huntington, NY office.
When the skin on your face looks red and inflamed, you want a solution that works. With so many options for over-the-counter and professional treatments available today, you may find yourself wondering why you should choose one solution over another. Will Isolaz produce better results or faster results than a facial, chemical peel, or other service? Wouldn't topical medication be sufficient for clearing acne and preventing scars? The truth is that your skin is unique. At the Dermatology and Cosmetic Laser Center, we recommend treatment after a thorough examination.
How Isolaz treats acne
To understand why Isolaz is a popular acne treatment, it helps to know how this treatment works on the skin. Dr. Koreen explains that there are two simultaneous mechanisms at work in this treatment. First, a gentle vacuum unclogs the pores. Second, the broad-spectrum light from our device destroys the bacteria that cause acne in the first place. The use of this light maximizes the treatment of acne.
Facials and other common treatments may sufficiently unclog pores, but may not have the same impact on bacteria. Because there are several types of acne, there may be a need to treat the condition with multiple therapies such as Isolaz and medication or medical facials. For the treatment of comedonal acne, we may use Isolaz in addition to other light therapies to quickly reduce inflammation and minimize the frequency and severity of future breakouts.
The appearance of your skin will affect your self-image. Multiple studies support the idea that acne can have an enormous impact on wellbeing, even leading to depression and isolation. Dr. Koreen has been treating patients in the Huntington area for more than twenty years. Under his care, your skin can regain its healthy glow.
