Botox is formulated with botulinum toxin type A. This medication can reduce the contractions caused by muscles. When a dermatologist such as Dr. Roger Koreen injects Botox directly into specific areas of the face, it can help smooth away fine lines and folds. It is most often used on the upper third of the face to treat:

- Crow’s feet
- Glabellar lines
It is important for patients to understand that this treatment does not result in immediate improvement. Instead, the results are developed over several days and then last approximately six months before patients need to seek reinjection. Is Botox safe?
